Now days, Gulgong is renowned for its robust tourism, historical, agricultural, mining, viticulture, cattle, and sheep industries. Previously referred to as the $10 town, Gulgong appeared on the paper $10 note until 1993 alongside the Australian poet, Henry Lawson.
